St Cloud MN City Council
St Cloud needs Responsible, Common Sense City Government.
The City Council should be responsible to the Residents and Businesses of St Cloud, not a rubberstamp for the Mayor and his ideas for the cities development.
The St Cloud City Government works for the Citizens of St Cloud and the City needs to communicate it's plans and solicit feedback before making development decisions.
I grew up in the West Metro graduating from Wayzata HS, NDSU, and St Philips College. My Wife grew up on the South East side of St Cloud. We live on the south side off of 33rd St South.
I am an Army Veteran, have have worked the past 35 years in IT Project and Program Management as well a general Technology Consulting
52% of the residents of St Cloud are renters. Does St Cloud really need more apartment buildings? The City and Developers make more money building apartments, but is greater population density the best plan for St Cloud?
The current plan is based on the extension of the North Star Rail and a "National Survey" showing people want to live downtown in a walkable city. Neither assumption is valid as a basis for City Development plans
As population density increases so does property and violent crime. Do the citizens of St Cloud want to recreate what Minneapolis experienced with the Cedar Riverside developments?
The City is responsible to the Citizens of St Cloud and needs to let the community know of projects and developments early in the exploration process, not at the end. Public input in planning is key to public participation and accceptance.
